About the role

You will design, build and operate cloud infrastructure and delivery pipelines for United States, Canadian and European software clients, remotely within Mexico or from our Monterrey hub. The work spans infrastructure as code, CI/CD, observability, cost optimisation and reliability engineering. This is a senior individual contributor role with technical influence over how client platforms are built.

Key responsibilities

  • Design and implement cloud infrastructure using infrastructure as code, primarily Terraform
  • Build, maintain and optimise CI/CD pipelines for build, test and deployment
  • Implement and operate container orchestration, primarily Kubernetes
  • Design and implement progressive delivery: feature flags, canary deployments, automated rollback
  • Build observability: distributed tracing, structured logging, metrics and SLO-based alerting
  • Conduct cloud cost analysis and implement optimisation: right-sizing, commitment planning, waste elimination
  • Lead incident response for platform incidents and drive blameless post-incident review
  • Implement and maintain security controls: secrets management, network policy, least-privilege access, vulnerability scanning
  • Build self-service tooling that allows application engineers to provision environments without platform team involvement
  • Participate in architectural design and technical decision making with client engineering leadership

Requirements

  • Native or equivalent Spanish
  • English at CEFR C1, assessed before offer, as this role is client-facing and conducted primarily in English
  • Five or more years in DevOps, platform engineering, site reliability engineering or cloud infrastructure
  • Deep hands-on experience with at least one major cloud platform: AWS, Azure or GCP
  • Strong Terraform or equivalent infrastructure as code experience in production
  • Production Kubernetes experience including networking, storage and workload management
  • Strong scripting and automation: Python, Go or Bash
  • Observability tooling experience: Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry
  • Demonstrable incident response experience in a production environment
  • Availability for on-call rotation. Valid Mexican identification (CURP and RFC)

Preferred

  • Cloud certification: AWS Solutions Architect Professional, Azure Solutions Architect Expert or GCP Professional Cloud Architect
  • Certified Kubernetes Administrator or Certified Kubernetes Security Specialist
  • Service mesh experience: Istio, Linkerd
  • Experience with cost management at scale and FinOps practice
  • Prior experience as a technical lead or platform team lead
